Why do people—every one of us—react or respond the way we do?
Understanding someone’s background can offer insight into their traits, shaped by a blend of genetics, environment, and life experiences. Whether I’m with a friend or a stranger, I often try to look deeper into the reasons behind their reactions. What occurred during their formative years to trigger such a response? Was it something significant or subtle? Are their actions guided by honesty, apathy, or empathy? Even in the way they carry themselves day to day, there’s always a story waiting to be uncovered.
In my book, Saving America Shamefully, the characters reflect this complexity, resembling real people with equally intricate histories. Since readers don’t have the luxury of knowing their backstories, I’ve created videos to share glimpses of their experiences—offering deeper understanding and connection.
